Do you know what a sea otter is?
The main character in the animation Bono Bono is a sea otter. Sea otters usually live in groups in the sea and eat clams, sea urchins, abalones, and other crustaceans. They can swim fast thanks to their hind legs that look like paddles. They are also clever enough to use tools. They find clams, put them on their bellies, break the shells using stones and then they take out the delicious clam meat. Lying face upwards and floating on the sea, they look super cute and happy when they eat clams that they put on their belly. They are so neat that they clean their whiskers and face using their paws and spin their body in the water to wash away food scraps after eating.
But the clever and cute sea otters are endangered now and protected by people. Hunters have hunted them down for a long time because their fur is shiny and lovely enough to be used to make the highest quality of fur coats.
A place where animals live happily can also be a place where people live happily, can’t it? Please consider animals as well as humans as part of nature as both of them are equally precious.
