It wasn’t uncommon for a radio series to be associated with a publishing firm, but “Mystery House” gave book promotion a slight twist. In each program, the staff members of Mystery House, “that strange publishing firm owned by Dan and Barbara Glenn”, would pitch in to perform a half-hour mystery, while others would provide sound effects, rewrite scripts and so on, with the premise of demonstrating the credibility of a novel before it was published.
Information on this light-hearted dramatic series is sketchy at best, but what we do know is that this unique series offers some tight and nifty little mysteries, presented in a novel manner, and that all have been transferred from original master recordings and painstakingly restored to preserve their full superior audio fidelity.
