Anne of Green Gables takes place on a farm, in the quiet town of Avonlea, Canada. Matthew and Marilla, unmarried siblings, live on the farm. They decide to adopt an orphan boy to help them handle the farm work; however the orphanage sent a talkative girl instead.
As this girl, Anne begins to live with Matthew and Marilla in the house with a green roof, not a day goes by without some funny episodes. Anne devotes herself to her studies and succeeds in attending a prestigious university; however, she gives up her aspirations for a four-year degree, as Marilla’s health deteriorates after Matthew’s death.
Since its publication in 1908 and until now, the Anne series has been loved all around the world.
