"The Man with the Twisted Lip" is one of 56 Sherlock Holmes short stories by Arthur Conan Doyle. Dr Watson is called upon by a friend of his wife, to assist in the retrieval of her husband from an opium den. When he arrives at the den he discovers Holmes disguises as an old man. The mystery deepens when the husband is nowhere to be found, and his coat- heavy with coins- is found in the river Thames beside the building.
