When Coach Kevin Kush arrived on the Boys Town campus in 1996, the high school football team at the home for troubled and at-risk youth had gone winless the previous year. The team is comprised of youth who have academic, behavior, and emotional problems and whose stay at Boys Town averages only 18 months. Many have never played organized sports.
Despite these challenges, Coach Kush found ways to organize, teach, and motivate his players to improve and ultimately win. Since his second year as coach, the Boys Town Cowboys have won at least eight games annually. His teams play with passion and character. In this inspirational yet practical book, Coach Kush explains his dynamic strategies for motivating youth to individual improvement and team achievement.
These strategies can succeed for you whether you work with kids in a classroom, on a school athletic team, or in a weekend recreational league.
