Beskrivelse
BookD offers a fascinating perspective into the world of publishing. Listen to authors discuss their inspiration behind their books, and hear the story of how these books were transformed from the initial concept. Tune in every other week for conversations with the stars of literature, art, film, music, science and politics.
Artist Oliver Jeffers talks to BookD about how he became a published author overnight and his campaign to get good picture books out there for the youngest readership of all. "It was all about landing on the right persons desk at the right time". Oliver is a rareity in the sense that he is not only an author, he's a freelance illustrator, fine art artist and a big fan of self generatory projects in his new home town, Brooklyn, New York. We talk about how he managed to divide his time to do all of these things and how to do them successfully. This podcast illustrates that artists posess many cross disciplinary skills and how these talents are nurtured and exposed for all to appreciate.
We also listen to the very Hungry Caterpillar author Eric Carle's newest Childrens book '10 Little Rubber Ducks' and Emma Chichester Clark's take on a little girl called Alice in a land of wonder.
