This book explores the subject of the stereotyping of Native Americans, particularly through the use of school mascots. Both sides of the issue of Native American symbols being used for mascots are presented. Much of the book details the many different tribes within Native American culture, stressing the diversity within the race and its tribes. Protests over the use of Native American mascots are discussed along with how these protests often result in changes in team and school names, as well as their mascots.
