Hansel and Gretel
Hansel and Gretel, a poor woodcutter’s children, were hated by their stepmother. She persuaded her husband to abandon them in the forest so that she and her husband might not starve.
Hansel overheard her plan and prepared white stones. He dropped stones one by one to mark the way home when he and his sister walked into the deep forest with father.
This tale also has been adapted into movies and operas and loved by people all over the world.
Rapunzel
A couple with no children was caught by a witch because they broke into her garden and picked rampion flowers.
They begged for mercy, but the witch took away their newborn child and named her “Rapunzel”.
The witch locked her in a tall tower in the middle of the forest when she was 12. She had long blonde hair that had never been cut.
One day, a prince rode through the forest and found her.
With the help of the prince and her long hair, she tried to escape from the tall tower and the wicked witch.
Rapunzel is famous for its dialogue “Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair. ” It also has been adapted into an animated film and became popular all around the world.
