Keeping it simple
When thinking about motivation, the first thing to do is to create a space around you at work and at home. This space should be simple and positive. The things around you have a lot to do with how you feel and whether you will feel motivated or stuck in a slump.
Your office space should contain and display items that make you feel positive about life and achieving goals. If you have goals and things you would like to do, it may be a good idea to put them on the wall of your office or cubicle. This way you will have a constant reminder of the things you would like to do eventually.
Only you know where you would like to be in the future. You must create your space as a constant, positive reminder that you are working to get there. Create a positive atmosphere around you no matter where you are. This also includes the car you drive. If you spend many hours in the car commuting every day make it a positive space. This means cleaning it up. Don't drive a depressing vehicle that is full of junk and paperwork. Get your car detailed and start taking care of it. You'd be surprised how good you'll feel when you clean your car.
A clean home and office go a long way when you need motivation. If you find yourself sitting on piles of paperwork you might get the attitude that you will never complete the things you need to get done. A cluttered workspace can be frustrating and depressing. It can cause you to procrastinate and even be disorganized with both your thoughts and your work.
