Gilded Flicker combines some elements from both the Yellow-shafted and Red-shafted forms of Northern Flicker. Gilded Flicker is slightly smaller than either, and it nests in holes in giant saguaro cactus. Gilded Flicker adds character and punch to the beautiful chorus of birds recorded in American forests and lowlands.
