Why do rules exist?
You have probably been told to ‘Cross at a green light’, ‘Don’t step on the grass’, etc. You have probably been told to follow these rules. A rule is a kind of law that everyone decides to follow.
The rules above help maintain public order. Rules, however, are needed not only in public places but also in everyday life. Getting up early, having breakfast on time, being neatly dressed, not being late for school, etc. are important rules for life.
Do you follow these different kinds of rules well? Perhaps you follow the rules for public order well, but are annoyed by your parents’ rules for everyday life.

Summary
Sam is angry at his mom, dad and teacher who don’t let him do as he wants and make him do this and do that. At home in the morning, his mom tells him to get up quickly, get dressed, and get ready for school. But Sam wants to sleep in! Then Dad tells him to get in his car. But Sam wants to walk to school. Why can’t he do what he wants? At school, his teacher tells him to sit quietly and solve a quiz. But Sam wants to move around the classroom and play in the school yard. Who made such annoying rules and why did he or she make them? Tomorrow for one day, Sam decides not to listen to what adults say, but to do as he pleases!
